Operation Get It Back
Remember the problem Operation Give had a while back with Atlas Line over $30,000 that was supposed to forwarded as a container deposit to Kuwait?
It looked like it was resolved, but it’s not. Plunge has the details over at Chief Wiggles.

Oops
I somehow completely missed this very special day Friday. I’ll have to keep it in mind next year.
Prying Into Prions
This research work is huge. Thanks to Dean for the link.
Protein folding is potentially a bigger area of study and mystery than the genome, yet it seems progress is already underway. I found this second article as a result of curiosity inspired by the one on the prion research in mice. It’s more extensive, and makes it easy to understand just what protein folding is and how it goes wrong and, worse, replicates without RNA. There’s a good bit about Alzheimer’s, as well as some discussion of hereditary emphysema, CJD, CF and more.
Fascinating stuff. And important, regardless of how rare transmission of mad cow per se may be.
