The new camera has various flash/exposure settings. Traditionally a flash will drown out lights, especially the pinpoint fiber optic lights on our little tree. I experimented with no flash and got these three pictures. Interesting effects, especially in the 2nd tree picture, where the colors of the lights change rapidly and obviously the shutter speed was slow.
The next picture was taken on the “night” setting, which is apparently great for blur effects.
We tried to get seasonally appropriate, posed pictures of Sadie for Christmas cards. A set we did outside in the snow didn’t come out well enough. The best of those were shadowed and would have benefitted by manually turning on the flash. Then we tried to pose her with the tree. A couple representative examples of how that went are below, followed by the same thing when I thought of posing her with her stocking.
Looks like you have almost the exact same tree as we do.. though yours looks nicer.
