Simply because I never heard of Armstrong Williams before the scandal broke?
All I know about him post-scandal is apparently he is black, apparently he is conservative, he used to have some kind of show and column, and everyone but me seems to know who he is. He did a disreputable thing. The kind of disreputable thing people do all the time. Yawn. Flunkies in an administration department that should never have existed did a disreputable thing. The kind of disreputable thing the government does all the time. Yawn.
