And the Verdicts are…
Michael Jackson found…
Not guilty on 1st conspiracy charge.
Not guilty on all four lewd act counts.
Not guilty of attempting lewd act.
Not guilty on all four administering alcohol counts.
Odd that no one felt the need to comment on the verdict. I’d think something of this magnitude would warrant some reaction, but so far I’m the only person to speak up. I’m a long-time MJ fan, and I’ve never for one moment believed he did what he’d been accused of, and although I do think he might have missed the boat on the “grown superstar sleeping in the same bed with kids is a bad thing"-class, I don’t think he would cause harm to anyone intentionally. I am probably among the very few fans he has in the US, so I fully expect to hear a lot of crap for sticking up for the guy, but I feel there wasn’t anything here to go on other than his admittedly strange behavior. I’m an eccentric, too, and I understand his desire to surround himself with kids (they, unlike most adults, have dreams), but people have it in their minds that such behavior is inherantly bad. Odd, considering his past legal issues concerning children, but not an indication that he’s a sociopathic pervert.
I can see myself being the target of such attacks if I were in his place, but I can also see that he really needs to watch who he invites over and how he deals with them when (if ever) he allows them to spend an evening at home with him. I love the guy, and he is without a doubt one of the most talented people on the planet, but he’s really got to look at what’s happened before and NOT getting into the same mess again. I wish him the best of luck, and I hope he continues producing music.
