Another Clue
If you say “come for dinner and birthday cake in a week” and we never say we absolutely will be there, don’t call after we don’t show up and leave a snide, accusatory message. It’s not going to increase our desire to wake the baby from a sound nap to drag her there on your schedule - and incidentally make her unbearably cranky - next time. Invitation doesn’t mean acceptance. Setting places at the table for us does not obligate us to materialize.
So yeah. Fuck off with the obnoxiousness already.
