About

Long, long ago in a blogosphere far, far away, we met in each other's comments. Who would have guessed that three years later we'd be married and blogging about our two daughters? Not us, but here we are!

Apartment

So today we all went to the office to escape the heat and humidity, and I was thinking when we got home this evening, there would be a message on the machine inviting us to come get the keys and finalize things tomorrow.

Just as we were about to head home at almost 8:00, the new landlord called the cell phone, which number he’d apparently gotten from my having called his wife from it at one point.  His wife had called and left us a message sometime after 1:30, asking us to come there at 4:30 today.  Oops!

Instead, we go down at 4:30 tomorrow, which is fine by us, give them more money and get the keys, then we can swing by and see the finished product.  He lost the battle with his wife, so our bathroom has new wallpaper, as well as a new ceiling.  It only really needed the latter, though the redo is nice to have, especially if we’re going to be there as long as I expect.  We’ll want to scope it out more closely, maybe do some measuring, make some preliminary decisions what goes where.  Then I have to pin down who is helping us move when.  I think Friday will be more a day of preparing, and the weekend will be days of moving.  We’ll see.

Here are some exterior pictures of the place.  Interior “before” pictures will be another thing we’ll do pre-move.  Maybe I’ll post some of those too.

The entire second floor of the building is our apartment.  Front to back, looking at the third picture, is the master bedroom, living room, and kitchen.  The part that sticks out, under the satellite dishes, is living room, probably about the right width to tuck the couch into if we want.  Those windows are one of our favorite features.

Anyway, stay tuned for more after we get the keys!

  2. Looks great!  I can’t really tell by the picture but I get the impression that there is a yard out back for Sadie to run around in?  That would be nice!  Looking forward to pics of the inside!

  3. So cute!  Congratulations on the new place.  I know how excited you are to get settled in your new home.

  4. Oh thats not the one I was thinking..  You are even closer to the kids then I thought.

As for yard there is a big field across the street next to the national guard building that they can take Sadie to also.  The school isn’t far and there is a nice playground at the park downtown that isn’t far either..
