Aw Darn
It’s so close! Going to a blog meet in northern New Jersey would not be that far to drive. Yet it is central enough to attract a far-flung crew, which would save us from having to wait to go farther afield to meet certain people in the future.
Jim and Kate are coordinating just such a thing. I just can’t see any way we’ll possibly be able to go.
Arisia will be our last fling before continuing the current austerity in a more planned fashion. A relatively modest fling at that; no buying any art. Not that I would make a point of it anyway, considering how much unframed, unhung work I have around.
The car we’d want to drive will need a transmission or overhaul of same any time between almost immediately and next year. I’ve come to assume that it can’t be trusted. But the heat works great and it’s roomy! It’s my “big enough to sleep in if I had to car,” but ironically the only car I’ve ever slept in is the little Sentra. That was off the side of route 105 westbound in Nova Scotia, shortly before Baddeck. The Sentra is seemingly more reliable, but has issues of its own.
Anyway, it’s doubly a shame we can’t go. Then birthday cake could be added to the planned victuals.
Bummer. We’ll hoist one in honor of the AccVerbose Family.
