Best In-Laws Ever
The expected package arrived yesterday. Yay! It’s an early birthday present from Deb’s parents. My birthday isn’t until May 6th* April 3rd, but they thought we might want to make our own baby food sooner.
It’s a Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender/Food Processor!
We’ve gotten as far as unpacking it and perusing the sometimes comical instruction book, which does have a pina colada recipe in it. I haven’t made those since I was in my teens just over the legal drinking age of 21.
Now I can’t wait for an excuse to use it. Deb’s and my first thoughts were of shakes. Heh. I need to go down the street and get milk before we do that, and I don’t think either pistachio or chocolate almond chip lend themselves to such an endeavor.
Anyway, this is to say thank you thank you thank you! Not merely to gloat publicly and inspire readers to leave comments with any advice or food ideas they may have, for the baby or otherwise.
* My father went decades years not being able to remember my birthday, and thinking it was May 6, which oddly enough was the birthday of a boss I admired greatly and who was one of the only people at the company who didn’t think I was great. My theory is it was a mental block, given my mother’s birthday being the same day as mine, Heh.
