Best.Husband.Ever.
So I finally got around to folding a basket of sheets that has been sitting in the middle of our bedroom floor for days and days and days, and when I went to put them away, what did I find?
A pound of chocolates.
Seriously.
He should write a book. He really should.
Sounds like some sort of mental conditioning to me. Do chores=find candy.

Kidding aside, that was very swwet!

Posted by Jay on 02/22 at 04:02 PMUhh, that would be “sweet” (I’m still having trouble with this whole ‘English as my first langauge’ thing!)
Posted by Ith on 02/22 at 04:17 PMdon’t tell my husband. The food would go bad.
Posted by caltechgirl on 02/22 at 05:24 PMThat is SO COOL!
What kind of chocolates were they? (I’m jealous, I have to know...)Posted by Amanda on 02/22 at 08:43 PMI think they were Russell Stover, in a heart box, from the rack at Shaw’s that was labeled 50% off the leftovers, and actually rang up at 75% off. To my amazement, last trip to Shaw’s they actually charged the correct prices or less for every item!
Anyway, I bought it for giggles, figuring it was a fairly inexpensive treat we could share. Deb didn’t come right away to investigate the groceries when I came in with them, so it occurred to me I could stash it. I stuck it up on the shelf in our closet, basically in plain sight but not if you didn’t just happen to look. It took way longer than I expected for her to notice.
So half the deal was the surprise, not the chocolates guys. We did absolutely nothing to mark Valentine’s Day. Neither of us care much about that specifically. We just do this kind of thing the rest of the time. It is so much the thought that matters, not the item or scope of it. When I bring one candy bar, perfectly timed, that’s better than ten pounds of Hilliard’s chocolates on one designated day when Everybody’s Doing It.
