Burn, Baby, Burn. And Burn. And Burn…
Apparently Sadie is going to be a… problem… in some ways. Not that we didn’t already know that, but she is being funny in a disconcerting way right now.
In a sign that summer must be waning indeed, we are running the oven. I’m making spicy chicken by popular request.
Sadie has discovered that the outside of the oven gets a bit hot when it has been running. Not enough to burn her for real, but enough to disconcert and discomfort here. She touched the front of the oven with a palm and discovered this. It made her look shocked and whine a little.
Then she touched it again. And again. Crying harder each time. Then she tried other spots. Then she went back into the kitchen moments later and had to see was it still hot. She touched it in an especially hot place, cried, touched it again, cried harder, touched it again, got even more insulted.
And mind you, it doesn’t really hurt so much as it’s insulting that this stove thing has the nerve to be hot and to stay that way. It’s as if she couldn’t believe it would thwart her will and remain at an elevated temperature when she didn’t want it to.
This could get rough for her if she retains that approach.
well, you’ve known since she was an embryo that she’s THAT stubborn
Good luck

Posted by Ith on 09/08 at 08:55 PMJay, I think that every parent on the planet—at some point —has looked at their child and thought to themselves: “Ye gads, child you’re going to have a hard life.”
LOLLL
