Guess You Could Call It Taxifornia
This was one of Deb’s surprises encountered on moving to Massachusetts. California is significantly worse.
On another note, I had no idea Maine was that bad.

Ooh, after reading this I feel like I’ve been kicked in the teeth.
I go from #32 (MA) to a brief stopover in #7 (OH) to now living in the #2 (NY) state (D’oh!)
I knew OH had recently scored poorly in a survey like this. I also had heard (via rumor) that NY was bad in terms of taxes, but nowhere near this bad.
Then again, I shouldn’t be complaining too much, since as a Graduate Student (sciences), my tuition and stipiend come from the tax payers. Even still…
