I have a theory.
I believe I dislike Carrie so much precisely because I love country music so much.
Just a theory.
That was my thought. Every time she butchered a song I love I thought that. Like Independence Day. I love that song, but clearly she never thought about what the words are saying. And still hasn’t.

Posted by Deb on 05/24 at 11:17 PMI gotta say that after last night that Bo’s the one to beat. Carrie is cute in an Annabeth Gish kind of way and she’s got the pipes, but at times she does lack the emotional tie-in to the songs she’s been singing.
Regardless of who wins, neither of them will have problems being signed to record contracts.

Carrie just strikes me as the perfect cookie-cutter country star in the current climate...she sounds good but if you turned on the radio and she was singing, you wouldn’t know if it were her or one of the other dozen crossover clones. There’s a market for it, but it’s not to my taste. And she’s not much of a performer, but again, she probably doesn’t need to be. Well, except to win this thing, but that doesn’t matter so much at this point in terms of career.
