It really has become a theme.
I can’t not link this stuff. It’s too good.
This is logical. Logic seems to be the death of most everything lately, unfortunately.
I wonder if this is part of the seemingly-ever-increasing incidence of obesity...there was a time not long ago when women were encouraged to gain very little weight during pregnancy. Hmmm.
One thing that troubles me HUGELY: Up until last year, I had belonged to a non-profit weight loss group. Since the 1960’s they had something called “stork club”, where if you were pregnant, weight gain was super-duper as long as it was consistent with where your doctor wanted you to be at.
The stork club has been discontinued, and now, if you are pregnant, you are penalized for ANY weight gain, just like the fetus was an extra few butterfinger bars that week!
When the organization was questioned on WHY they would penalize pregnant women for gaining weight, they replied that the person is given (basically) props for the weight she loses post-baby.
WTF?
I’ve gained a lot of weight since I left, but wouldn’t have felt good about staying.
