“Autism spectrum disorders?  What are those?”

1. I have a neice who acted similarly. She could ignore everyone, showing absolutly no emotion no matter what you did. She would just look at you with a blank look and then turn away. When she was a baby she would refuse to look at her mother even while nursing. Some of us secretly suspected autism.
   Today she is normal, recently won a 5th grade state essay contest, and is super smart. She is very shy though.

2. I was showing my father your blog, particularly the geneology bits, and we ran across this pic, plus the one further down where her eyes are bright blue and she’s smiling right at the camera.  (I didn’t prompt him for the compliments either, seriously!)

   1) he said that Sadie is adorable
   2) he said she’ll probably be stubborn, charming and intense
   3) he said “The Irish have a saying about ‘old souls’, and your friend’s daughter is one.”
