New Things
As of today, Sadie started sleeping on her stomach. Just like that. It was kind of a surprise, because she tends to roll onto her belly, hang out for a moment, then start screaming. Either because it’s easier to get someone to flip her than it is to do it herself, even though she knows how, or because she’s frustrated that she can’t crawl, even though she is capable of navigating all the way across a room by rolling and by reorienting herself.
It’s so cute. She really seems to like it.
She also loved bananas, enough that when Deb started giving her cereal yesterday, she did a “yuck, these aren’t bananas, what are you thinking!” look. I bet she’ll really love apples.
She also seems to be hypersensitive to certain things. Possibly to the point of how I apparently was when I was little; excessively emotional, sensitive to things beyond what would make sense, overreacting as if little things were life and death. Well, or that’s just my impression from a couple of incidents where she freaked out. In one case, I sneezed vigorously in the same room, and she started at me for a second then burst out in her “oh no, the world is ending” face and cry. In another case I was blowing on the hair on the back of her head while we did the “look in the mirror at the baby wrapped in the towel” routine after her bath.
It’s never dull.
