New wedding rules
I’m learning so many interesting things from Jen’s wedding. For example, did you know it’s ok to wear black to a wedding now? Neither did I. I just know that tidbit will save me trouble at some point down the road.
I don’t have the temperment at all for handling a big wedding...what she’s doing would have driven me mad long ago. I’m crazy excited for her, though. It sounds like it will be absolutely beautiful. And I think everybody should get a wedding that matches their dreams. Mine just happened to involve boots, jeans, and a trip to Vegas. Heh.
at least it didn’t involve aliens or Elvis.
:pPosted by caltechgirl on 11/30 at 03:33 PMSometimes Vegas is the dream. There have been times when I was ready to scrap it all for a JoP, but then I decided I would be disappointed with that.
What will drive me ‘round the bend is these blooming beads. That is a much larger task than I imagined. But it’ll all be worth it.
And I plan to post pictures later so stay tuned!
As for wearing black to weddings, I’m relieved because I will have to wear black to a wedding on Saturday - I don’t have time to shop for anything and the only dress I have that fits is black.

Posted by jen on 12/01 at 06:24 AMBlack at weddings not allowed? Is that only for women? I only own one suit, and it’s black, although I usually do wear a blue or white shirt. And at my wedding, one of my female friends wore black pants and another wore a black top.
I think what’s more worrisome is wearing white at a wedding. My mom’s best friend wore a white outfit—stockings, dress, and a really tacky jacket with a fluffy fur collar. My wife still can’t stop talking about it.
Posted by Josh Cohen on 12/01 at 12:09 PMI always thought it (wearing black to a wedding) depended upon the time of the ceremony. F’instance, I wore black to a wedding—but it was after 4:00 p.m. I doubt if I would have had the courage to do so if it were a morning wedding.
And, you know, even though I joked about it at the time, it was SO not a subliminal statement on my part. Heh.
ANY wedding is nerve-wracking in its own way. My FIL married me and my husband and I hope to, someday, have a hand-fasting ceremony, too.
xoxo
