Sadie the Giant
So it’s not my imagination that all of a sudden half of her clothes don’t fit. Heh. In the last 3 months, our girl has gained two pounds and grown almost two inches taller. She’s 31 1/4 inches tall and weighs 21 pounds 11 ounces. She’s still at the 30th percentile for weight and is up to 65th for height. We tease her a lot about having gotten the tall skinny genes that do run through both of our families, but I’m really starting to think we’re onto something there. She eats and she eats and she eats and she just gets taller without filling out at all.
She got two shots today and will get one at her 18 month visit and then we’re done with those until it’s time for kindergarten. Yay!
The one thing that came up was the very exaggerated way she turns her toes in when she walks sometimes. I hadn’t really noticed it but it caught the doc’s eye and he’s shipping us off for an orthopedics consult to get a better opinion of whether or not it’s worth worrying about. So that appointment is next Monday.
She was very, very unhappy that we woke her up (good!) and took her out of the house (really, really good!) and we wound up in the doctor’s office (bad) and getting shots (really, really bad). Poor kid. She thought we were going to do something fun and we took her there to be picked on. We’re just so mean. Unfortunately for her, she’s cute when she’s pathetic, so she got laughed at while she was crying. I made it up to her with iced tea when we got here, though, so she’s more or less recovered. She’s a lot easier to bribe now that those bottom molars have broken through. Heh.
