Sadie tricks
So the baby has taken up doing a couple of new tricks, which of course provides us with so much entertainment that we have nothing else to blog about because we sit around and watch the baby instead of having, you know, lives. And to think I used to get annoyed with my friends who had kids because that was all they could talk about. Now I know what they were going through!
Anyway, she’s figured out how to crawl on hands and knees. She’s not so good at it yet, though, which means that she doesn’t last more than a couple of feet before she drops to her belly with a huge sigh of relief and crawls elbows-and-toes like lightning.
She stood on her own for the first time yesterday. She was standing here next to my desk, beating on the box that’s there for the purpose, and I’m sitting here typing, and all of a sudden it dawns on me that it’s sort of quiet, and I look over and the little twerp is just standing there with a funny look on her face, sort of a cross between help-me-I’m-stuck and ain’t-I-the-coolest-thing-ever?! ROFL. Now she’s practicing every chance she gets.
I can’t believe she’s doing some of these things already. It really blows my mind. The thing is that she’s just amazingly intense. She doesn’t much care for being a baby and she devotes huge swathes of her day to studying and practicing how not to be one anymore. Then suddenly she busts out with a big new accomplishment and it’s like how the heck did she figure that out so fast? She is so focused. Makes it tough on me because she can’t be distracted. Heh. At least she doesn’t talk much yet. Mama and dada is it. We’re in real trouble when she learns “why”.
I’m really proud of her. I just thought my baby would be a baby longer, you know? It’s going way too fast.
we had ababy a few months older than Sadie visiting yesterday. she had a great time toddling around opening cabinet doors, inspecting the bookshelfs, eating the catfood;;
lots of luck.Posted by on 05/21 at 03:53 PMLOL! She got into the catfood?
Guess that’s something to be thankful for, that we don’t have a cat. I could just see Sadie and a litterbox…
