Scanning
I had a meeting with the office manager and three secretaries today about what they need in terms of scanning for various purposes, most notably to scan exhibits to PDF for electronic court filing. I was admiring the HP Digital Sender 9200, described what I know of it to them, and it sounded ideal, so long as it works with the network as configured. It’s also considerably less than they expected.
Then the conversation turned to all kinds of other operational matters, largely but not exclusively computer-related. Turns out they are doing an unexpectedly large volume of color printing, mainly to one modest multifunction printer in the manager’s office. They’re spending a fortune on ink.
So I mentioned that in my poking around, I had noticed scanners that were also color laser printers in the same unit. That is now to be the focus of my shopping! How unexpected. Perhaps it will turn out better to get one color laser printer and one network scanner, but we’ll see.
Thoughts?
Color laser might be the ticket, however, watch the prices of those toner cartridges! And some printers take 6 of the bloody things!
Still it may cost less than the color ink packagesPosted by on 04/21 at 12:19 AM
