Silly Cars, Yay for Sadie, and Shorn At Last
Not necessarily in that order.
I finally got my hair cut today, and it worked out amazingly well. It is normal to sit in the barbershop and wait an hour or so. Today when I walked in I was the only guy not in one of the two chairs, and one of those guys was done perhaps a minute later. Half the time I was there, one of the barbers was sweeping the floor. It was great! Not to mention getting the usual superlative haircut.
Sadie had her first lollipop ever last Thursday, the 5th. My mother gave her a Tootsie Pop while we were having the ultrasound. Recently before that I’d declined one from someone else, not being sure she’d understand the concept of suck on the candy, discard the stick. Duh, of course she did, as if she’s been eating them forever. She even ate the center.
Yesterday she found an old Tootsie Pop while we were all at the office, managed to unwrap it herself, and was sucking on that before we knew it. Silly us, holding out on her.
The cars are trying to peck me to death in duck-like fashion.
The Sentra needs brakes, for which I have the parts and need only get together with my brother some evening. We also knew the truck would be needing brakes. Well, now it’s making sure we know, with that system they use to make a high pitched squeal emit from the brakes as you drive. It’s almost unbearable. At least brakes are cheap. I’ll buy them in the next day or two and get together with my brother ASAP.
Yesterday my seatbelt broke in the Sentra. Doh!
The anchored part the belt buckles into in the middle of the car is at issue. A piece of plastic broke off inside. Now you can slide in the metal tab, but it doesn’t want to release out again, no matter how vehemently or repeatedly you press the release button, and how hard you pull. Yet then it will slide out on its own after you stop struggling for a bit.
I am hoping that anchor piece bolts to the car and can easily be removed and replaced. I used to drive the Sentra without the belt, but I have gotten used to having it on, so I feel funny without it. In the van, I always wore it because it fit more easily and I felt less safe driving the van.
So it’s be squealed at, drive unbelted, or drive belted but be unsure how to get it off at my destination.
