The Little Tiny Linkfest: Take a Deep Breath Edition
McGehee asks: Schiavo Derangement Syndrome? I think he’s right that our (very human) tendency to think about what we’d feel like/do if we were in that place has fueled a lot of the flaming. I think he’s also right that it’s time to calm the hell down.
Nathan, meanwhile, is trying to find a replacement for the phrase, “Culture of Death,” which is, I think, as inflammatory as he suspects it might be. I can’t think of a good replacement, but there has to be one.
And Zombyboy is contemplating the larger nature of the blogosphere, while including a link to the post that made me fall in love with Michele all over again this morning, and some other good stuff besides.
All worth taking a look at, if you haven’t already. As far as McGehee’s question about blogging more and enjoying it less, well, yes. And no. I’m blogging less and enjoying it more, but I read too many blogs and too many of those are giving me headaches lately and that generally means it’s time to slow down a bit. I find this tends to happen whenever there’s a single huge issue everyone is obsessing over whether I agree with the bulk of my usual reads about it or not. It just plain gets tiring.
In any case, thanks, folks. I feel like I’ve had a nice bloggy group hug now. I needed that today.
I’ve disliked the term ‘Culture of Death’ for a while, I think a more accurate term is the ‘Culture of Indifference’.
