This is just really getting out of hand.
So the federal government bullies automakers into improving fuel efficiency, then realizes that they’re cheating themselves out of tax money, panics, and decides that maybe it should be tracking your car to make sure you’re paying enough.
Assholes.
I would sincerely be so f***** it isn’t even funny. You may as well call it a double tax on rural-dwellers, becvause those of us who have to drive from the farm to the city rack up way more miles than your average urbanite.
We’ve gone out of our way to buy cars with “green” engines, our last two both sporting GM’s Ecotec engine. On the one hand, we get good gas mileage. On the other, we’re being gentle (well, as much as we want to be, I guess) on the environment. To keep our transportation at this low-emission point, frankly, costs a good deal of money.
I’m already paying plenty, thanks. (Plus, the privacy implications of this really creep me out! *shudder*)
