Too clever for our own good.
So we’ve been putting off and putting off and putting off dropping the crib mattress, primarily because I’m freaking short and it’ll be hard for me to get her in the thing without waking her up once it’s dropped. I knew that we’d probably better do it any day now since she’s learned to pull up, but she’d only been able to do it from sitting, and she still can’t get into a sitting position on her own, so I’ve just been making sure that I always lay her down when I put her in there (she does sometimes go in awake).
So today she figured out how to pull up on the crib rail from being on her tummy. She gets to her knees first, then gets her feet under her.
So poor Jay is in there at midnight dropping the mattress down.

Maybe a step next to the crib might give you enough of a “boost” to reach down into the crib?
Yeah, I’m 6 feet tall and I’ve never had kids. Why do you ask?

Hey Deb, don’t worry. They tell me that this is supposed to be the fun part....
Posted by caltechgirl on 05/02 at 08:56 AMOh, yeah, a stepstool is definitely in order.
She really is getting to be more fun. I’m really enjoying this age.
Posted by Deb on 05/02 at 10:31 AMUm, doesn’t the crib rail lower?
Posted by Sharon on 05/02 at 12:59 PMLooks like it ws designed to but it doesn’t work, so we’re improvising.
Posted by Deb on 05/02 at 01:04 PMyeah I figured it must lower...but that explains it anyway!
