Bush finally vetoes something and it’s this?
the fact the south korea research was fake didn’t slow the momentum for this. its funny how junk science becomes so politically popular. the congress can’t wait to throw money at something that’s based on fraud.
at least there are real scientists working in private industry to solve real problems.

Haven’t stem cells of all kinds been shown to have amazing properties? Also, until “we” do all kinds of peer reviewed research, how do we know what’s junk science or not, right?
Worst of all, vetoing this bill doesn’t strike me as particularly ethical.
1) The abandoned material is slated for destruction anyway.
2) How can anyone equate a blastula of a couple 100 cells with a person suffering from a terrible, debiliating disease or injury? What’s next, a sperm & ova protection ordinance?
3) By forcing research into the “private sector”, gov’t loses the option for strict oversight & open publication requirements.Posted by on 07/19 at 09:49 PM
