“You’re Early!”
The repair guy from GE was scheduled for today between 8:00 and 5:00. At 7:30 the landlord’s wife banged on the door until I noticed it wasn’t a dream, to let me know the guy was on his way.
He was here and gone before 8:00. We appear to have a working, non-leaking dishwasher. Yay!
Here’s what apparently happened:
The dishwasher got hooked up and started cycling.
The valve was dirty/sticky.
It splooshed all over the floor.
Cleaning and blowing out the valve worked.
Putting it back in and failing to connect a hose hid the fact it worked.
Repair guy connected said hose and we talked about funny “support incidents,” since it reminded me so much of tech support.
It worked. Great guy.
Alternatively what I’d surmise is the hose came disconnected on that first run, they somehow overlooked that and assumed it was the valve, but that seems unlikely.
Talk about unexpected, though. When do you ever see a repair person early for one of those wide windows of expected times? As he said, “someone has to be first.” Go us. And kudos to GE!
