Potty Disappointment
Doh! As mentioned in the previous post, we bought Sadie a potty chair at Target last night.
Today she proudly stripped off her diaper, and when offered a replacement diaper, walked over and pointed to the still unopened box.
A moment later, when asked if she wanted to use her potty, she went over to it again and sort of embraced the box, looking at us like “well..?”
So I opened the box, took the pieces out and… the main one making up the base was broken. Doh! We had to disappoint her, and in my travels today, luckily planned for that direction anyway, I need to return it for a replacement.
Poor Sadie. She’s trying so hard to be uncannily “aware,” for lack of a better word, and the world conspired against her. I have no idea how she learned or figured out what the potty is for, but she apparently knows exactly what it is. Perhaps to her it’s obvious, extrapolating from her fascination with the toilet and her knowledge of what we use it for, versus her size and that she goes in her diapers. She seems to puzzle out complicated things all the time.
Perhaps in addition to being self-weaning, she’ll also be self-training.
